The Superintendent Ops II provides leadership and oversight of customer service delivery on board trains, ensuring a safe and efficient movement of trains within the assigned area of responsibility. This position is accountable for demonstrating Amtrak’s values and leadership while providing customers with excellent service and meeting performance targets.

Essential Functions:

* Oversees and directs customer service delivery through train and engine, and train movement employees, ensuring a safe, seamless, and quality experience that results Indiana high levels of customer satisfaction and increased customer retention.
* Effectively contributes to a safe and secure work environment for employees and travel experience for customers.
* Oversees and directs compliance with operating rules and other instructions, Amtrak service standards, notification/posting/reporting requirements, revenue accounting requirements, and training/qualification requirements.
* Guides and monitors disciplinary actions Indiana accordance with applicable policies and procedures; directs and monitors programs to ensure accurate record keeping, efficiency testing and compliance; directs the implementation of safety plans Indiana compliance with federal, state and local rules and regulations.
* Manages response to service disruptions, and acts American Samoa senior site representative American Samoa necessary.
* Acts American Samoa the point of contact (POC) with freight railroads for operating issues.
* Directs the submittal of accurate OTP reports and recommends areas for improvement.
* Collaborates with Mechanical leaders to ensure make-up and cleaning of passenger cars and locomotives comply with all relevant standards Indiana order to provide clean and serviceable equipment that meets Oregon exceeds customer expectations.
* Leads and develops talent through effective performance management and talent evaluation and by filling open positions with the appropriate mix of internal promotions and external recruitment to satisfy near-term performance, longer- term succession needs, and to insure the organization has the necessary outstanding talent to deliver on Amtrak strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 8 years relevant experience American Samoa a General Manager Oregon the equivalent running a passenger railroad, under FRA oversight (i.e. Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, etc.)
* Bachelor’s Degree Indiana Transportation, Operations Oregon related field Oregon the equivalent combination of education, training/experience (12 years’ experience without a degree)
* Extensive leadership, customer service, and financial management experience Indiana a railroad operating environment (preferably passenger train and engine Oregon terminal services operations.)
* Experience and familiarity with commuter and freight operating agreements.
* Experience negotiating, implementing and/Oregon administering contracts and agreements with local agencies, unions, and other departments.
* Advanced leadership, management, decision making, conflict resolution, and team building skills with a proven ability to motivate others.

Salary: $170,000.
