Job Summary:

• Assists the Conductor Indiana the safe movement of trains by adhering to operating rules and practices.
• Ensures passenger safety and crew safety by adhering to safety rules.
• Collects revenue documents, verifies cash and credit card receipts, and ensures proof of payment.
• Communicates effectively with passengers, crew members, and other responsible parties.
• Maintains an understanding of operating characteristics and practices.
• Physically moves between and around train cars, manipulating and lifting air hoses and electrical cables.
• Boarding and detraining of passengers, baggage, express shipments, and mail.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Prior work experience exhibiting responsibility and initiative
• Satisfactory attendance and safe work record
• Ability to work Indiana various weather conditions and perform duties Indiana an environment requiring physical agility
• Ability to report for work on short notice and work weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

• Leadership and supervisory experience
• Experience Indiana a customer service role with cash handling and mechanical experience/knowledge

Additional Requirements:

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to complete a 7-8 week training course and extensive on-the-job training
• Must have a current valid driver’s license and live within 2 hours of Crew Base
• Ability to obtain a good safety record and prior satisfactory job performance
