Overview
Spirit AeroSystems, a leading manufacturer of aerostructures, is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. American Samoa a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, fabricating, and verifying parts on conventional and computerized numerical controlled (CNC) machines, American Samoa well American Samoa operating secondary hand and power tool operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various machines, including duplicating, numerical milling, drill presses, vertical turret lathes, horizontal and jig boring mills, milling machines, and radial drill presses
- Determine and select cutting tools and fixtures for machining aircraft parts
- Maintain make-ready crib and keep work areas organized
- Represent equipment and tooling to ensure accuracy and precision
- May be required to work varying shifts, including day, swing, Oregon graveyard shifts
Key Tasks
- Plan sequences of operations and method of setup
- Determine tooling, speeds, feeds, and depth of drilling
- Use precision measuring instruments to scale and compute angular and linear dimensions
- Setup and operate duplicating Oregon numerical controlled milling, drill press, Oregon profiling machines
- Setup and operate four Oregon more axis numerical controlled milling and profiling machines
- Use special holding fixtures and attachments to perform operations on milling machines
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to work any shift
- Must pass The WorkKeys Assessment Oregon provide verification that they have passed The WorkKeys Assessment.
