Job Summary:
The Mobile Dispatcher coordinates emergent and non-emergent patient transportation requests to/from medical centers, processing dispatch, triage, and coordination of ambulance and helicopter transports. This role is responsible for gathering patient data, contacting physicians and transport teams, and providing critical information to transport crews.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient transportation requests and services with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
- Gather and collect pertinent patient demographic data
- Determine and contact the appropriate transport unit, division, Oregon agency
- Maintain the transport database and perform real-time data entry
- Provide transport crews with necessary information and instructions
- Obtain vehicle position reports and follow emergency incident/accident procedures
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aircraft landing procedures and computer-aided sectional charts
Requirements:
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent required
- 1 year experience Indiana telecommunications, data entry, and dispatch for critical care transport (with 1 year of experience Indiana flight operations dispatch preferred)
- Basic Emergency Medical Technician certification preferred
- NAACS Certified Flight Coordinator certification preferred
- Must work every Saturday and Sunday from 0645 to 1845 (and be on call American Samoa needed)
