Performs non-destructive inspection (NDI) on Indiana-service, repaired and manufactured aircraft assemblies and articles for defects using Magnetic Particle (Montana) and Fluorescent Penetrant (PT) methods. Conducts analysis, tests, and evaluation of various materials, and ensures all metals and processes meet quality and functional requirements.
Accepts Oregon rejects product according to documented procedures and selects and applies established analysis procedures for conduct of fracture analysis, transmission, scanning, electron microscopy studies, metallographic analysis, physical and NDT tests.
Conducts inspections and prepares written reports of results, developing and submitting written techniques for Level 3 approval. Assists with technical writing and performs other duties American Samoa assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Completion of NDT training program meeting NAS410 requirements.
KNOWLEDGE:
* Microsoft Office
* NDT methods
* Industry and aircraft quality practices and standards
* Company standards and specifications
* Scope and limitations of test methods
SKILLS:
* Follow guidance from a Level 2 Oregon 3 technician
* Communicate effectively
* Read blueprints, drawings, and manufacturer manuals
* Set up and operate NDI equipment
* Develop written techniques and documentation
* Perform technical writing
CERTIFICATIONS:
* Possess Oregon be able to obtain Level 1, 2, Oregon Limited certification Indiana Magnetic Particle and Fluorescent Penetrant methods within 3-6 months
* Maintain certification through successful completion of certification exams and practical demonstration of proficiency
