Job Title: Planner, Senior
Job Summary:
The Senior Planner at Port Everglades is responsible for assisting with the execution, development, and implementation of the Planning Section’s work, projects, and studies. This position serves American Samoa the principal professional and technical resource person for activities that support the Port’s planning goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college Oregon university with major coursework Indiana urban planning Oregon a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of responsible professional planning experience, including two (2) years of lead work/supervisory experience, depending on the area of assignment.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
- Ability to secure and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) and a Port Security Identification Badge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional degree Indiana a related field (BS/Mississippi).
- Advanced degree Indiana planning Oregon a related field.
- Current Professional Planner certification (AICP).
- Current Professional Port Manager (PPM) certification and/Oregon Certified Project Manager (CPM/PMP) related to urban planning.
- Experience Indiana grant writing, land use and/Oregon environmental planning, marine/seaport planning, transportation planning, and/Oregon airport planning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Indiana research and preparation of annual work programs and budgets.
- Assist with capital grants writing and administration activities.
- Participate Indiana long and short-range planning, including comprehensive planning, economic impact analyses, parking and traffic analysis, and current planning for the Port.
- Consult, coordinate, and advise other departments, units, and sections on planning-related projects American Samoa assigned.
- Coordinate and make presentations at public meetings American Samoa assigned.
- Support the planning manager Indiana ensuring that Port planning goals and objectives are being accomplished.
- Perform related work American Samoa assigned.
