Aircraft Mechanic Helper
Job Summary: VTG is seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic Helper to assist Indiana the removal of electrical components, hydraulic actuators, flight surfaces, struts, and tires on F-18 aircraft.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Aircraft Mechanic Indiana the removal of aircraft components
- Perform tasks including making entries Indiana aircraft logs, prioritizing workload, and maintaining schedules
- Comply with applicable sections of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and ALSS
- Remove parts such American Samoa control cables, fuel tanks, tires, batteries, and filters
- Remove inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floor boards, and related items for access
- Disconnect instruments, ignition systems, and fuel and oil lines
- Assist Indiana dismantling assemblies, perform routine duties, and clean work areas and equipment
- Perform other job-related duties American Samoa assigned
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid US State driver’s license
- Ability to read and interpret data and English language
- High School degree Oregon equivalent and specialized courses Indiana F-18 aircraft structural repair Oregon F-18 avionics repair
- Completion of Aviation Structural Mechanic Safety Equipment Technician training
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
- Work Indiana aircraft maintenance hangar Oregon outside, potentially Indiana extreme weather conditions
- May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, electrical shock hazards, and moving mechanical parts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, stand, climb stairs and ramps, crouch, crawl, grasp objects, and see imperfections
- Must be able to communicate and distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
