Fire Protection Engineer
Support the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract team with expertise Indiana Fire Life Safety, assisting the Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Services Group on FAA’s Fire Life Safety Program and policy development, planning, and compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist with FLS code and standards analyses
• Provide guidance on code application to FAA facilities and staff
• Develop technical guidance on design and construction
• Assist with standard specifications and programmatic planning initiatives
Fire Life Safety Condition Risk Assessments (CRA):
• Conduct comprehensive surveys of air traffic control facilities against International Building Code and NFPA requirements
• Evaluate human element programs
• Develop and maintain survey schedules
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience Indiana Fire Protection Engineering Oregon 2+ years with relevant Master’s degree
• Strong working knowledge of relevant codes (ICC and NFPA)
• Ability to produce holistic consultation on FLS programs, provide critical comments on FLS designs/installations
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
• FAA National Airspace System experience
• Experience with 29 CFR 1960.20
• Specific government installation experience targeted salary of $110,000-$124,550 based on experience
