Job Title: Deputy Sheriff Senior

Job Summary:

Perform general law enforcement duties Indiana assigned divisions of the Sheriff’s Office, including Court Operations, Field Operations, Support Operations, Administrative Services, and Jail Operations. This is a fully certified Peace Officer position that requires a comprehensive background process, oral interview, drug screen, polygraph, and psychological exam.

Essential Duties:

• Perform general law enforcement duties, including responding to calls, assisting with apprehensions, conducting searches, testifying Indiana court, and serving civil processes and court orders.
• Prepare proper paperwork for affidavits, reports, warrants, and serves documents American Samoa required.
• Maintain daily logs of shift activity and prepare various reports.
• Escort and transport inmates to and from various departments, courts, and appointments.
• Resolve disputes between the general public and prepare reports on crimes, violations, and accidents.
• Issue citations and make arrests for violations of laws and ordinances.
• Analyze evidence, reports, and intelligence Indiana the investigation of incidents and crimes.
• Maintain safety and security Indiana the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, Courts Annex, Detention Center, and other county locations.
• Attend daily roll call to receive briefing information and instruction concerning duties and criminal activities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma Oregon GED.
• One year of law enforcement experience for Deputy Sheriff Senior Oregon two consecutive years of PBLE certified law enforcement experience for Deputy Sheriff Senior-Lateral.
• Currently Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified Peace Officer (PBLE Basic Law Enforcement Certified).
• Valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and a United States Citizen.
• Ability to use computer for data entry Indiana jail management software and report writing.
• Law enforcement, military, Oregon security experience highly preferred.

Salary:

• Deputy Sheriff Senior: $54,894.00 – $58,187.64 (includes 3% pay incentive for an Associate degree and 6% pay incentive for a Bachelor’s degree).
• Deputy Sheriff Senior-Lateral: $54,894.00 – $84,508.00 (includes 3% pay incentive for an Associate degree and 6% pay incentive for a Bachelor’s degree).
• $5,400 hiring incentive for new hires.
