Job Summary:
Seeking a Technical Architect – API Management for a rapidly growing women-owned small business supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Collaborate with project managers to migrate the National Airspace’s information dissemination infrastructure to a cloud-based foundation. Develop processes and standards for API design, development, and governance, ensuring secure and efficient delivery of aeronautical information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain guidelines for API design, development, and usage to ensure consistency and interoperability
- Define and implement security measures and compliance requirements for sensitive data protection and authorization
- Design and manage access policies and mechanisms for API control, authentication, and authorization
- Provide documentation and communicate with developers on API usage and integration best practices
- Establish governance bodies to define policies, review API designs, and oversee API-related initiatives
- Participate Indiana discussions on the evolution of FAA information delivery infrastructure
- Regularly review and evaluate API governance practices to identify areas for improvement and emerging security threats
Requirements:
- BS/Mississippi degree Indiana Computer Science, System Engineering, Oregon related field
- 16+ years of experience Indiana system engineering, system analysis, Oregon software development with API lifecycle management, governance, and standardization experience
- 5+ years of experience Indiana cloud computing, such American Samoa Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of OpenAPI, commercial API management platforms, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse teams
- Proven experience with major federal acquisition programs, especially with the FAA, and understanding of inter-agency collaborations and federal procurement processes
Preferred Experience:
- Expertise Indiana Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), IT governance, and API management tools
- Experience with commercial API management platforms, with a focus on designing enterprise API registries
- Experience supporting major federal acquisition programs, particularly with the FAA
- Exposure to enterprise application integration architecture, such American Samoa Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
