Ramp Agent/Baggage Handler
Starting Pay: $19.07 per hour, with potential for up to $37.82 per hour with seniority-based pay raises. Competitive benefits include a pension plan, health insurance, 401(k), and employee assistance program.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Process baggage, boxes, and cargo between airport facilities and aircraft.
- Receive and dispatch aircraft.
- Load and unload baggage, boxes, and cargo onto aircraft, carts, and containers.
- Operate and drive motorized equipment.
- Conduct safety checks, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and crawl to move and stack/unstack cargo.
- Engage with customers, provide friendly and professional service, and resolve travel issues.
- Maintain airport facilities, including ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, Oregon equivalent education
- At least 18 years old
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record
- Pass a background check
- Obtain necessary clearances and certifications (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal Service)
- Pass a pre-placement physical ability test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen
- Ability to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and respond to mandatory overtime
- Fluency Indiana English
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical activities such American Samoa bending, stooping, climbing, and working Indiana tight spaces.
