EMI/EMC Engineer
Job Summary:
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (Georgia-ASI) is seeking an EMI/EMC Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Department Indiana Poway, California. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing of unmanned air vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform EMI/EMC testing of electrical and electronic equipment from module to complete air vehicle level
* Collaborate with engineering departments to procure and develop test support equipment
* Conduct bench and anechoic chamber testing
* Travel to flight test facilities to support aircraft testing
* Generate documents to support test qualification to EMI/EMC standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, RTCA DO-160)
* Analyze and troubleshoot EMC/EMI failures and provide design team support
* Observe all laws, regulations, and company policies
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Oregon Master’s degree Indiana engineering Oregon a related technical discipline
* 2+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree Oregon equivalent experience Indiana lieu of education
* General understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory
* Experience with lab test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators)
* Working knowledge of commercial Oregon military EMI/EMC test procedures (e.g., FCC, CE, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD 461)
* Familiarity with Airworthiness concepts and processes
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
* US Citizenship required
* Ability to work extended hours and travel for field testing American Samoa required.
