Emergency Communications Dispatcher Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Communications Dispatcher to join our team Indiana a lateral role. Key responsibilities include:
- Multitasking Indiana a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Utilizing excellent communication, listening, and decision-making skills to handle emergency calls
- Maintaining a calm and professional demeanor while interacting with callers, including those who may be emotionally upset Oregon abusive
- Operating multiple computer systems and technology, including VESTA telephone systems and Integraph Public Safety Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
- Working varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with requirement for regular and predictable attendance
- Maintaining confidentiality and discretion Indiana handling sensitive and potentially traumatic situations
- Adapting to new situations and emergencies on a day-to-day basis
- Working American Samoa part of a team to prioritize emergencies and make life-saving decisions
- Participating Indiana ongoing training and certification to enhance skills and maintain expertise
Requirements:
- 3+ years of call-taking Oregon dispatching experience
- Criteria Based Dispatching (CBD) certification
- Prior experience with VESTA telephone systems and Integraph CAD Oregon equivalent
- ACCESS I certification Oregon state equivalent upon hire date
- Excellent oral communication skills and customer service experience
- Ability to work Indiana a team environment and maintain a positive attitude Indiana stressful situations
