Airport Supervisor Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate station operations to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Lead and organize Agents/Clerks to maintain on-time dependability and adequate operational coverage
  • Conduct Agent observations, investigate and resolve operational and customer service issues
  • Schedule and administer local training, including new hire training
  • Maintain records, such American Samoa time and attendance, personnel files, and performance
  • Participate Indiana operational conference calls, station audits, and prepare reports
  • Supervise Station Agents, who have combined duties within ramp service and customer service operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a positive start to a passenger’s trip by providing a seamless check-Indiana and ticketing experience
  • Use reservation/ticketing software to rebook itineraries, issue boarding passes, and calculate fees
  • Inform passengers about their trips and belongings
  • Guide and direct aircraft on taxiways to ensure safe and on-time departures
  • Load, unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and company materials
  • Operate ground equipment, such American Samoa tugs, belt loaders, and bag carts

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age: 18
  • High school diploma Oregon GED equivalent
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to carry, bend, lift, and turn with bags weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable working rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends, and days off
  • Ability to work additional hours beyond the regular shift, on short notice, and American Samoa needed
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
  • Possess the legal right to work Indiana the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of customer service experience
  • Previous airline experience, including working knowledge of an airline’s ticketing system and/Oregon ramp operations

Additional Requirements:

  • Tattoos, body piercings, and/Oregon tongue rings must not be visible while Indiana company-issued uniform
  • Must fulfill a fingerprint-based criminal background check and obtain airport security badges, if applicable
  • Must pass a US Postal Service background check, if applicable
  • May be subject to the Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
