Job Title: 3rd Mate (Hopper Dredge)
Location: Remote location, travel required up to 5% of the time
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $38.11 – $44.52 per hour
Job Description:
Ensures the safe and efficient operation of a hopper dredge vessel.
Essential Duties:
– Stand watch and operate the vessel to ensure compliance with navigation regulations and dredging plans.
– Directs the flow of dredged material and coordinates pump-out operations with shore parties.
– Operates pilot house controls and monitors vessel movement.
– Maintains log records of vessel movement and weather conditions.
– Coordinates docking and undocking operations under all conditions.
Requirements:
– Valid United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC) American Samoa Third Mate of Self-Propelled Vessels of Unlimited Tonnage Upon Oceans.
– Standard of Training/Watchkeeping (STCW) endorsement American Samoa Officer Indiana Charge of a Navigational watch Oregon higher.
– Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential (TWIC).
– Ability to perform basic navigational bridge operations.
– Ability to stand watch and direct dredging operations.
– Valid U.S. driver’s license.
– Willingness to serve a one-year probationary period, if applicable.
– Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and random drug and alcohol tests.
– Willingness to work Indiana a resource-constrained environment.
