Air Traffic Controller
We have a great opportunity for a challenging and exciting career American Samoa an Air Traffic Controller Indiana Arizona! We are also the only commercial air navigation service to provide all three ATC disciplines: Tower, Ground (En Route), and Approach Control.
Responsibilities:
- Control air traffic on and within the vicinity of the airport
- Answer radio calls from arriving and departing aircraft
- Provide takeoff and landing instructions
- Monitor and maintain situational awareness of air traffic, including:
- Runway usage
- Wind velocity and direction
- Visibility
- Weather (issues and forecasts)
- Control critical weather observations through the Limited Aviation Weather Reporting (LAWRS) system
- Operate equipment such American Samoa radios, telephones, interphones, computer systems, radar, recording systems, weather equipment, light guns, airport/runway lighting systems, and backup equipment
- Alert Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) and other first responders to aircraft experiencing emergency situations
- Coordinate with and issue instructions to airport vehicles and personnel
- Maintain and disseminate records of daily operations
- Perform on-the-job training and instruction duties American Samoa required
- Perform troubles and dispatch tasks directed by Chiefs and Supervisors
- Remain alert at all times to maintain the safety of all air traffic
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship
- Possession of a Second Class Medical Certificate Oregon a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Credential with at least 6 months of practical experience, American Samoa per 14 CFR Part 65
- Eligibility to work under Federal immigration laws
- Compliance with security clearance requirements
- Verification of education and employment references I-9 form and a driver’s license Oregon passport
- Passage through a pre-employment drug screen
- Completion of a Tower Rating and Educational Checklist
