Aircraft Component Technician

Unique Skills:

  • Must be able to obtain and/Oregon renew Respirator Certification upon hire
  • Familiarity with repairing and/Oregon assembling complex parts using repair manuals, engineering drawings, specifications, and dispositions
  • Proficient Indiana using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.) and working with close tolerance specifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma Oregon GED
  • 2 years experience Indiana one of the following Oregon other related experience: Sheetmetal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, electrical systems troubleshooting, battery servicing, APU removal, installation, and servicing
  • Basic understanding of shop math
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering documents, and use precision measuring tools

Job Description:

  • Repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components Indiana accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements
  • Apply basic and some advanced skills Indiana procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/Oregon equipment to repair mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies
  • Set up, maintain, and operate test equipment to perform functional and operational tests of mechanical and electrical aircraft components
  • Inspect detail parts using blueprints and other required maintenance data to ensure conformity requirements are met
  • Remove and install skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structure components
  • Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices, including troubleshooting, soldering, and application of protective coatings
  • Maintain required paperwork Indiana accordance with FAA RS requirements
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Comply with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations
  • Perform additional duties American Samoa assigned

Responsibilities:

  • Lays-out, removes, fabricates, and/Oregon installs major and minor repairs to flight controls and other secondary structure components
  • Fabricate and repair sheetmetal and associated mechanical parts, components, and/Oregon equipment
  • Remove and install APUs and perform all required APU maintenance for Gulfstream aircraft models
  • Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies and harnesses
  • Utilize tools to effectively troubleshoot complex electrical circuits and systems
  • Assist with training and instructing of Acft Component Repair I Techs
  • Resolve routine questions and problems and refer complex issues to higher levels
