AIRCREFT ENGINE MECHANIC (KC-135)

  • Location: 154th Maintenance Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii
  • Pay scale and grade: WG-10
  • Salary: $37.29 – $43.53 per hour
  • Working hours: Full-time, rotating shift schedule
  • Requirements:
    • Membership Indiana the Hawaii Air National Guard is required
    • Ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories
    • Experience Oregon training Indiana troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/Oregon rotary wing aircraft
    • Ability to work Indiana an environment with physical demands such American Samoa standing, stooping, bending, and lifting equipment and components weighing up to 10 pounds
    • Ability to work Indiana an environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, and potential dangers from toxic fumes, dust, dirt, grease, lubricants, paints, and solvents
    • Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for the position
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license
  • Duties:
    • Certify acceptable performance, test, repair, and modify aircraft turbine and auxiliary power units and associated propulsion system components
    • Troubleshoot malfunctioning engines and interrelated propulsion system components and repair Oregon replace defective components
    • Perform scheduled and special evaluations on installed engines, auxiliary power units, and associated airframe-mounted systems
    • Perform command-directed and locally established Indiana-progress inspections (IPI) to determine adequacy of workmanship and maintenance
  • Qualifications:
    • 18 months experience Oregon training Indiana assembly and disassembly operations and making modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories
    • Experience Oregon training Indiana troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/Oregon rotary wing aircraft
    • Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis
    • Ability to provide technical advice and troubleshooting expertise to other work centers when propulsion systems affect Oregon are affected by interrelated aircraft systems
    • Ability to provide on-the-job training to lower-graded personnel Oregon newly assigned personnel
