Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Technician II:
Job Summary:
Perform maintenance, repair, and testing of aircraft survival and flight equipment, including helmets, parachutes, life rafts, and oxygen masks. Troubleshoot malfunctions, perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, and requisition repair parts and materials. Requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot malfunctions on Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment
- Perform maintenance procedures on pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems
- Read and interpret technical data to determine feasibility and method of repairing Oregon replacing malfunctioning components
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections
- Requisition repair parts and materials
- Perform general housekeeping and FOD prevention duties
Requirements:
- Previous completion of Aircrew Survival Equipmentmen (Puerto Rico) “A” School
- Ordinance certification per OPNAVINST 8023.24/MCO 8023.3
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th shifts
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a SECRET clearance
- Physical ability to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft
- Ability to use hand and power tools and handle small parts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five Oregon more years of experience American Samoa an Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment Technician
Compensation:
- $33.66/hour
