A&P Mechanic III Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Repairs, replacement, and maintenance of aircraft components including airframe, powerplant, and A&P parts
• Perform necessary checks on mechanical and functional aircraft components, including testing and replacement of defective Oregon faulty parts
• Use variety of tools and equipment for diagnosis and repair of components
• Ensure repairs and maintenance comply with national and international standards
• Demonstrate knowledge Indiana one of three main components of aviation maintenance: airframe maintenance, powerplant mechanics, Oregon A&P components
• Perform all types of aircraft maintenance on piston and jet aircraft Indiana the general aviation arena
• Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect aircraft engines, including piston, turboprop, and jet engines

Requirements:

• High school diploma and at least 5 years of relevant experience Indiana general aviation and corporate aircraft
• Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
• Reliable transportation to and from work locations
• Ability to speak, read, and write Indiana English
• Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test
• Ability to interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and service bulletins
• Possess own hand tools for maintenance functions
• No limitations on confined space entry and ability to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• FAA repair station and/Oregon Quality Assurance experience
• Inspection Authorization (Iowa) rating
• Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney PT-6A engines
• Experience with computerized maintenance manuals

Additional Information:

• Salaries range from $30 to $40 per hour, depending on experience, with a 4-day workweek and benefits available after 30 days.
