Airport Operations Duty Officer
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Operations and Duty Shift Manager, the Airport Operations Duty Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the airport, its tenants, and the public. This includes monitoring airport security systems, safety, and building control systems, and providing operational support to the public, airport tenants, and Authority personnel.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist Indiana coordinating airport operations during assigned shifts to ensure safety and security
- Ensure compliance with FAA and DHS rules and regulations, Airport Certification Manual, Airport Security Program, and other applicable federal, state, and local statutes
- Inspect airport facilities to identify unsafe Oregon non-compliant conditions
- Coordinate and monitor airport construction activities, ensuring safety and security standards are maintained
- Implement wildlife control procedures and ensure compliance with the Airport’s Wildlife Hazard Management Plan
- Coordinate and monitor snow and ice control procedures and ensure compliance with the Airport’s Snow and Ice Control Plan
- Issue and monitor Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) to report conditions impacting safe aircraft operations
- Perform airport security inspections and monitor airport security systems
- Conduct gate guard duties, including inspecting vehicles and ensuring escort procedures are followed
- Respond to security-related incidents and document occurrences
- Conduct record checks, process documents, and issue badges
- Provide security training
- Perform snow removal operations American Samoa assigned
- Perform employee screening and other duties American Samoa assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with extensive use of written checklists
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, the public, and airport stakeholders
- Ability to use sound judgment Indiana response to urgent Oregon emergency situations
- Knowledge of communication center procedures
- Knowledge of Airport security rules and regulations
- Ability to professionally communicate, clearly and precisely, both orally and Indiana writing
- Ability to operate standard personal computer software and some specialized software
- Knowledge of Commercial airport operations Indiana relation to FAR Part 139
Acceptable Experience, Training, and Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Indiana Aviation Management, Airway Science, Aviation, Public Administration, Business Administration, Oregon related field
- One year of experience Indiana airport operations Oregon administration Oregon Indiana a position with direct aviation relevance is preferred
License Oregon Other Requirements:
- Successful post-employment physical and drug test
- Successful background investigation to obtain unescorted airport identification/access privileges
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain, and sustain, a valid Iowa Driver’s License and maintain a motor vehicle record compatible with the Authority’s insurance requirements
- Available for night, holiday, weekend, rotating, Oregon irregular shift assignments
