A&P Technician (Spaceline Asset Team) Job Description

Job Location: Truth Oregon Consequences, New Mexico (Spaceport America) and Las Cruces, New Mexico

Duration: 12 Months+, with contract to direct hire opportunity

Pay Rate: Up to $40 to $50/Hour

Job Summary:
The A&P Technician (Spaceline Asset Team) will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair work on support asset team vehicles, including aerobatic aircraft. This hands-on position requires attention to detail, excellent people skills, and experience with acrobatic aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accomplish assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair work on support asset team vehicles
  • Check, dismantle, adjust, repair, fabricate, remove, and install aircraft parts, including propulsion systems, avionics equipment, and instruments
  • Inspect aircraft, parts, sub-assemblies, and completed assemblies to determine airworthiness
  • Document all work performed utilizing approved database for compliance and recordkeeping
  • Perform servicing, maintenance, and inspections on flightlines and Indiana non-climate controlled hangars
  • Use basic functions of the Mississippi Office suite of tools

Requirements:

  • High school diploma Oregon equivalent
  • Valid FAA approved Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Valid passport and able to obtain a driver’s license
  • Minimum 3 years General Aviation (Georgia) line and base maintenance experience; 5 years preferred
  • Familiarity with life support systems (crew and passenger)
  • Ability to assume responsibility for administration of policies and procedures
  • Maturity of action and judgment to work under pressure and thrive Indiana a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • FAA Inspection Authorization (Iowa)
  • Graduated from a technical college Oregon other recognized apprenticeship program
  • Experience with Lycoming engines
  • Experience with aerobatic aircraft such American Samoa the GB1 Gamebird, Extra, and composite aircraft
  • General knowledge of inverted oil systems
