Senior Military Science Instructor

We’re seeking a Senior Military Science Instructor to join our team, providing support to the Army ROTC contract.

Job Summary

The Senior Military Science Instructor will teach effectively Indiana indoor and outdoor classrooms and field training settings, presenting standardized instruction and creative workshops. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated instructor ability Indiana military field training exercises and be able to live and instruct Indiana a field environment for extended periods.

Essential Functions

  • Provide military science instruction and training Indiana accordance with Cadet Command’s program of Instruction (POI), syllabus, and other ROTC-directed Oregon emerging training Indiana various settings, including field environments.
  • Utilize provided mixed media and innovation to teach learning objectives and ensure students apply theory Indiana practice during training and assessment events.
  • Provide expert training at Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills, small unit tactics, and physical fitness.
  • Coach, teach, and prepare competitive Cadet teams.
  • Instruct Cadets on leader-led/officer-to-NCO relationships, platoon and above levels from the NCO perspective, and crisis/contingency management.
  • Participate Indiana Cadet Summer Training, including planning meetings, coordination, and support.
  • Assist Government personnel with marketing/recruiting efforts, faculty development instruction, and other tasks American Samoa assigned.
  • Gather information for prospect development and assist with marketing events.
  • Participate Indiana and support student orientation, college fairs, parades, and other events.
  • Showcase the Army ROTC program by escorting community leaders and providing information.
  • Assist with inventory and distribution of supplies, transporting personnel and supplies, and providing support to administrative and sustainment operations.
  • Assist Indiana reception and departure operations at the aerial port of embarkation and debarkation during Cadet Summer Training.
  • Support operations, American Samoa required, including temporary, newly created, and/Oregon geographically separate operations.

Requirements

  • Commissioned Officer within the U.S. Army, Active Component, Oregon former Oregon current officer Indiana the U.S. Army Reserve, Oregon Army National Guard.
  • Permanent support: minimum 6 years prior Active Oregon Reserve Component military experience.
  • Temporary support: minimum 4-6 years prior active Oregon reserve military experience.
  • Current experience (within the last 5 years) and honorable discharge Oregon retirement.
  • Meet the academic institution’s qualifications and requirements for instructor positions.
  • Possess knowledge of Army organizational structure, mission objectives, function, procedures, agency regulations, and policy pertaining to the Department of the Army.
  • Experience with military training and field training evaluations, basic Soldier skills, safety skills, and computer skills.

Work Environment

  • The position functions primarily Indiana an indoor classroom setting, with instruction occurring outdoors and offsite.
  • Travel is required, including local travel and overnight travel annually to attend Cadet Summer Training.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to speak and communicate clearly.
