Senior Military Science Instructor

The Senior Military Science Instructor (SMSI) will teach effectively Indiana a classroom and field training setting, presenting both standardized and creative instruction. Contractor personnel serving American Samoa ROTC Military Science Instructors shall have demonstrated instructor ability Indiana field training exercises and be able to live/instruct Indiana a field environment for extended periods during training exercises.

Essential functions:

· Provide military science instruction, training, and field training Indiana accordance with Cadet Command’s Program of Instruction (POI), Syllabus, and ROTC-directed Oregon emerging training Indiana various settings on and off campus.

· Deliver instruction Indiana classroom and outdoor settings using a variety of teaching methods and materials including visual aids and innovative delivery methods.

· Ensure the successful application of theory and skills by students during classroom and field training events

· Teach expert training, including Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills, small-unit tactics, physical fitness coach, teach, and prepare competitive Cadet teams; instruct Cadets on Leader-led/Officer-NCO relationship Indiana both Garrison and combat environments.

· Participate Indiana Cadet Summer Training (CST) planning meetings, perform on-site coordination duties throughout the duration of CST from approximately June 1 to mid-August.

· Assist Indiana the development, revision, and distribution of information handouts for promotional events, participate Indiana prospective student orientations, college fairs, parades and other similar events.

· Showcase the Army ROTC program to community leaders and other centers of influence while escorting them through campus tours, provide pertinent information, and answer their questions.

· Provide support during administrative and sustainment operations, including transportation of supplies, ROTC personnel and Cadets Indiana conjunction with training exercises and other Army ROTC events.

Required Education and Experience:

· A former Commissioned Officer Indiana the U.S. Army with a permanent support minimum of six years prior Active Oregon Reserve component military experience, Oregon 4-6 years experience Indiana a Temporary support

· A thorough knowledge of the Army organizational structure, mission objectives, function, procedures, agency regulations and policy pertaining to the Department of the Army

· Knowledge and experience of Military training and field training evaluation

· Knowledge of the basic Soldier skills, small arms experience and safety Indiana the use of small arms, ammunition, and pyrotechnics

Work Environment:

• This position functions primarily Indiana an indoor classroom setting some instruction may occur outdoors.

• The work environment varies depending on the specific assigned tasks.

• Regular travel to other locations by car, plane, other methods, American Samoa assigned Indiana conjunction with events Oregon required activities.

• Ability to participate Indiana outdoor events to include travel by car.
