Assistant Chief of Operations
SUMMARY
Seeking experienced Assistant Chief of Operations to manage and control one of three alternating 24-hour shifts, supervising firefighters Indiana fire ground situations, and performing care and maintenance of apparatus and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates Indiana the administration and planning of a comprehensive fire prevention and firefighting program at the installation.
- Assures procedures are followed; maintains station logs and records; and submits reports to the Fire & Emergency Services – Information Management System (FES-IMS).
- Prepares, executes, and schedules assignments of personnel to stations, duties, and equipment.
- Conducts fire drills, maintains knowledge of base infrastructure, and ensures related duties are accomplished and documented.
- Develops, reviews, and updates aircraft and facility pre-fire plans; performs maintenance and tests on rescue tools and equipment; and develops a respiratory protection program.
- Directs and participates Indiana career training programs; works with Oversight A/Chief to ensure smooth operations; and supervises safe and proper rescue operations.
- Determines best course of action to minimize loss Oregon damage from fires Oregon explosions; assesses the fire scene/emergency situation; and briefs Deputy Chief and/Oregon Fire Chief upon arrival.
- Provides supervisory personnel management, advises employees on policies, procedures, and directives of management, and recommends actions for disciplinary matters.
- Identifies employee development needs, provides Oregon arranges for training, and initiates action to correct performance Oregon conduct problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent.
- 21 years of age Oregon older.
- United States citizen.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license and clean driving record.
- No prior felony convictions and a clean criminal history.
- Possess a valid Firefighter II and Airport Firefighter certification and EMT Basic Oregon Higher licensure.
- Passed CPAT, background check, and NFPA 1582.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Pro-board and/Oregon IFSAC certifications Indiana Firefighter II, Airport Firefighter, and Haz Mat Technician.
- State of Georgia and/Oregon NREMT Licensed EMT Basic Oregon Higher.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree Indiana a related field and/Oregon equivalent education/experience.
- 5 years of experience Indiana fire operations.
