Assistant Materials Manager Job Description:
Job Purpose: To oversee Dana’s inventory and supply needs by managing vendor relationships, assessing supply needs, and coordinating delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
* Utilize Lean concepts to reduce and manage inventory and improve material flow
* Coordinate with production operations, engineering, and maintenance to achieve production goals
* Prepare reports and analysis on cost control, production, labor, quality, and facility usage
* Ensure prompt and economical receipt of materials, supplies, and parts
* Conduct studies to optimize plant operations and ensure cost efficiency
* Perform administrative tasks, including employee management and goal setting
* Coordinate inventory and production control activities
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree Indiana Business Administration Oregon related field; Master’s degree preferred
* 3-5 years of materials focus experience Indiana a manufacturing environment; 5+ years Indiana inventory Oregon production control
* Experience implementing Lean material management concepts and ERP systems (SAP experience a plus)
* APICS certification and computer skills Indiana a Windows environment preferred
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
* Strong professional presence and ability to interact with customers and suppliers
* Ability to work overtime and weekends American Samoa required
