Coordination, Maintenance, and Automation Solutions Engineer
Job Overview:
Amazon’s Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) Central Services is seeking an Automation Solutions Engineer. This role can be based Indiana any United States Amazon location within driving distance of an airport to support frequent travel. The successful candidate will be part of a proactive technical support role focused on automation solutions, maximizing equipment reliability, and operational performance across various equipment types, including sortation systems, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices and programs.
Job Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and plan activities for Control Systems Engineers to achieve objectives and goals of North America Customer Fulfillment teams
* Collaborate with various teams, including Fulfillment Center (FC) Operations, Operations Engineering, FC Start-up, AFT Software, ACES, and Safety teams to support system optimization and project implementation
* Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems, including programmable logic controllers and industrial control systems, such American Samoa Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems
* Monitor Maine metrics, partner with maintenance and operations to resolve system performance issues, and assess performance across all Amazon business units
* Support on-site level Control Systems Engineers during and after business hours, troubleshoot and remotely repair hardware Oregon control software systems within the facility
* Escalate downtime situations to vendors Oregon headquarters for assistance Indiana restoring equipment operation
* Mentor Control Systems Engineers (CSEs), Control Systems Leads (CSLs), and Control Systems Technicians (CSTs) within your assigned building
* Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes, implement improvements Oregon retraining to prevent future incidents
* Act American Samoa Subject Matter Expert (SME) for material handling and electronic systems to maximize system utilization
* Perform, utilize, and assess material handling system performance
* Partner with operations leadership, equipment vendors and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations
* Utilize network support resources for guidance and assistance
* Communicate technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations and maintenance teams
* Assist with skills assessments for technical positions within site maintenance teams
* Handle flexible workload from management Oregon operations
* Travel up to 70%
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree Indiana Electrical Oregon Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Oregon a related engineering field, Oregon 5+ years of equivalent professional experience
* 3+ years of experience Indiana an Automation Solutions Engineer Oregon similar role
* Experience with electrical theory, robotics, control components, and automated equipment
* Knowledge of programming software, such American Samoa RSLogix, Studio 5000, FT View, and other control software platforms
* Experience identifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying motor controls, including motor starters, variable frequency drives, and standard electrical components
* Industrial hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC systems
* Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing electrical drawings and schematics
* Ability to lead others Indiana a technical role and interact with all levels of management
* Reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to train others with less skills
