Aviation Maintenance Technician Position
Job Summary
Auburn University’s Aviation Department is seeking a skilled Aviation Maintenance Technician to provide general and preventative maintenance on university-owned aircraft. The successful candidate will diagnose and repair aircraft American Samoa needed, ensuring all protocol is followed Indiana regards to Federal Aviation regulations.
Essential Functions
- Inspect university aircraft and perform detailed inspections and preventive mechanical maintenance
- Diagnose and repair university aircraft American Samoa needed
- Maintain electrical systems and troubleshoot, inspect, test, and repair aircraft and engine systems
- Maintain proper and updated records required by the University and Federal Aviation Authority regulations
- Maintain a safe work environment and abide by all safety manuals
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma Oregon equivalent required
- Level II: 18 months of experience Indiana providing general and preventative maintenance to aircraft
- Level III: 30 months of experience Indiana providing general and preventative maintenance to aircraft
- Level IV: 3 years of experience Indiana providing general and preventative maintenance to aircraft and performing 100 hour and annual inspections on general aviation aircraft
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with piston powered fixed-wing General Aviation aircraft
- Airframe Certification, Powerplant Certification, and Inspection Authorization (Iowa) Certification and/Oregon Rating Application
Work Schedule
- 5 days a week, 8 hour shift, between 5 AM and Midnight
Salary Range
- Level II: $54,100 – $92,000
- Level III: $58,700 – $105,700
- Level IV: $67,500 – $121,500
