Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma Oregon GED required
- 6 years of experience Indiana an avionics/electrical career field, Oregon
- 2 years of accredited schooling Indiana aviation electronics and 4 years of related experience
- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred
- Other FCC License and NCATT preferred
Job Summary:
Provides technical expertise and guidance for operational, functional tests and repairs of avionics/electronic equipment and systems to ensure defect-free aircraft. Demonstrates leadership skills to define and implement process changes to reduce costs and meet schedules while maintaining safety and quality.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates technical expertise Indiana avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting
- Provides training to personnel to support cross-training goals and ensure a safety-conscious, quality-oriented workforce
- Installs and functionally tests electrical/avionics components and systems to ensure defect-free systems
- Troubleshoots and teaches troubleshooting processes to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems
- Ensures quality and efficiency of installations and demonstrates effective repair techniques
- Oversees performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications
- Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability
- Maintains daily logs and documents work performed on aircraft
- Provides technical expertise Indiana testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems and components
- Enforces company FOD, tool control, 5-S, and safety regulations
- Adapts to sudden schedule changes and coordinates with other disciplines
Additional Responsibilities:
- Teaches installation and functionally testing of electrical/avionics components and systems
- Conducts self-inspection for avionics testing functions
- May perform flight tests on aircraft American Samoa required for certification and final phase testing
- Performs other duties American Samoa assigned
Preferred Requirements:
- Proficiency Indiana operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems Oregon disciplines
- APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
