Broadcast Maintenance Technician
WLWT, the Hearst Television owned NBC affiliate Indiana Cincinnati, is seeking an experienced Broadcast Maintenance Technician to preserve the technical integrity of the station’s on-air signals and equipment from acquisition to distribution. The successful candidate will support all station efforts Indiana-house and on remote locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support critical on-air systems and workflows, including news, production, and broadcast systems and equipment
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot newsroom automation and streaming systems, including field gear
- Handle hardware configuration, imaging, and deployment of multiple systems, and support LAN infrastructure
- Maintain digital transmitters, microwave central receive sites, satellite antenna systems, signal distribution and routing systems, processing systems, monitoring devices, and automation systems
- Maintain production equipment, including robotic camera systems, production switchers, playout servers, graphics devices, lighting systems, weather graphics and systems, audio consoles, microphones, and IFBs
- Maintain news-gathering equipment, including ENG cameras, field gear, ENG, DSNG, and SNG trucks, editing systems, and support devices
- Conduct troubleshooting, installation, research, documentation, and cabling tasks
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience American Samoa a maintenance technician Oregon IT support specialist at a commercial television station, Oregon 5+ years of experience Indiana a related military occupation specialty
- Proficiency with computers, computer systems, and networking
- Background Indiana broadcast television systems, transmission, and satellite communications
- Basic skill with video production, microwave systems, IT infrastructure, and station automation systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
- Must be flexible to work various days and non-standard shifts American Samoa assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting digital broadcast transmitters
- Experience with Autocad for system design and layout
- SBE CPBE (Oregon better) certification
- Military Broadcast Television Equipment Maintenance (BTVEM) course from Defense Information School (DINFOS)
- Military training and experience Indiana electronics, avionics, Oregon related fields will be considered.
