Senior Calibration Technician

Position Overview: A Senior Calibration Technician is the highest-level technician position within Transcat, requiring expertise to calibrate equipment Indiana multiple disciplines and manage calibration processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex calibration work with minimal supervision
  • Explain calibration issues and processes to customers
  • Coordinate and manage daily workloads
  • Conduct calibration work at customer sites with minimal supervision
  • Identify and apply measurement techniques, design budgets, and understand uncertainties
  • Maintain calibration standards and adhere to laboratory Oregon customer on-site settings
  • Gather and process data reviews
  • Travel up to 50% of work schedule

Primary Objectives:

  • Train and develop fellow technicians
  • Coordinate lab work schedule
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Provide detailed analysis of calibration processes and uncertainties
  • Develop and produce budgets and data reviews

Qualifications:

  • Fully experienced Indiana at least one discipline Oregon advanced understanding of multiple disciplines
  • Extensive statistical background preferred
  • Familiarity with complex tools and equipment
  • Ability to work with new equipment and advanced proficiency with office software
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Elite interpersonal skills
  • Team lead and managerial responsibilities

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) Oregon equivalent from two-year college Oregon technical school
  • 5+ years related experience and/Oregon training; Oregon equivalent combination of education and experience
  • PMEL Oregon TMDE training plus military experience and 2+ years civilian experience preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Often required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch Oregon crawl
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 75lbs

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/Oregon humid conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, toxins, outside weather conditions, and vibration
