Chief Electrical Inspector
Job Summary:
The Chief Electrical Inspector will lead the agency Indiana electrical safety for the state of Wyoming by providing administrative oversight of functions, operations, and performance. The Chief Electrical Inspector will plan and coordinate effective use of staff and material resources, ensure compliance with electrical safety codes and standards, and licensure of electricians. This position will report directly to the State Fire Marshal.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the agency Indiana electrical safety for the state of Wyoming by providing administrative oversight of functions, operations, and performance.
- Plans and coordinates effective use of staff and material resources through interaction with the State Fire Marshal regarding policy, budget, planning, and specific management issues.
- Performs a variety of routine and complex administrative, supervisory, and technical work Indiana administering and enforcing electrical safety codes and standards and licensure of electricians.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and career development and promote continuity, training, and motivation of electrical staff.
- Examines and reviews inspection and investigation reports; determines whether statutes, program standards, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures are being maintained.
- Develops and implements improvements American Samoa needed and determines work procedures, oversees, and expedites workflow.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations for the agency.
- Prepares a variety of studies, reports, and related information for decision-making purposes.
- Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies, procedures, rules and statutes.
- Assists subordinates Indiana successfully performing duties.
- Resolves complex and sensitive customer service issues, either personally, by telephone Oregon Indiana writing and maintains records of these interactions.
Qualifications:
- Master Electrician certification by the International Code Council Oregon the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
- Preference given to those with a bachelor’s degree Indiana business Oregon public administration, management, finance, accounting, and work experience American Samoa a manager Oregon administrator Oregon a major unit Indiana a governmental Oregon private industry organization.
- Minimum of eight years of experience Indiana inspections, management, and supervisory experience is desirable.
- Ability to obtain Commercial Plans Reviewer Certification and Commercial Electrical Inspection Certification within 18 months.
