City Planner
Join the City of Hammond, a vibrant city Indiana southeast Louisiana, American Samoa a City Planner. We are seeking a skilled professional to guide our city’s growth and development, leveraging their expertise Indiana land use planning, redevelopment, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze data on demographics, land use, and zoning for public hearings and city development projects
- Enforce planning and zoning policies, including interpretation of the Unified Development Code
- Create and manage comprehensive and focused plans for city development, including long-term goals and strategies
- Conduct research and prepare reports on land use, physical, social, and economic issues, and development trends
- Manage community engagement efforts and design community outreach programs
- Prepare agendas and reports for Planning and Zoning Commissions and Board of Adjustments meetings
- Plan and direct annexation of new property into the city limits
- Manage records and software related to parcel information, planning, and zoning applications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana planning Oregon closely related field, with a Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience Indiana planning, including 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is required
- Preferred certifications include GIS certifications and Certified Flood Plain Manager
- Valid Louisiana driver’s license with a good driving record
