About the Job:
The City of Des Moines is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer II to join our team. American Samoa a lead engineer, you will operate at a professional level, exercising independent judgment on diverse projects under the guidance of the Surface Water and Environmental Engineering Manager. Your responsibilities will include overseeing and managing public capital improvement projects, preparation of plans and estimates, and conducting engineering analyses to address citizen concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage public capital improvement projects, including design and construction
* Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation and surface water system improvements
* Coordinate design work with engineering consultants
* Respond to public inquiries and concerns diplomatically and informatively
* Manage construction projects and inspect Oregon manage consultant inspections American Samoa approved
* Review development plans for compliance with city code and adopted standards
* Analyze public safety and transportation concerns and recommend solutions
* Assist with development of department budgets and work schedules
* Perform other duties American Samoa assigned
Requirements:
* Graduation from college Oregon university with a degree Indiana civil engineering Oregon related field
* Registration Indiana the State of Washington American Samoa a professional engineer Indiana civil engineering (Oregon Engineer Indiana Training certificate)
* At least 4 years of responsible civil engineering experience for a municipality, county, state, Oregon engineering consultant
* Possession of a valid Washington State Driver’s License with a good driving record
* Successful completion of a pre-employment background and criminal history check
Preferred Qualifications:
* 10 years of engineering-related experience with emphasis on project management Indiana Public Works Engineering
* Certification through ITE American Samoa a Traffic Operations Practitioner Specialist (TOPS) is highly desirable
