Design Director

Reports to: TDIP Program Executive

Job Summary:
The Design Director is responsible for overseeing the design delivery of all TDIP Programs, working with various designers under different contracts. The ideal candidate will have a complete understanding of airport terminal functions and assets, experience working Indiana an architecture Oregon engineering firm, and a proven ability to lead and collaborate with large groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee design support management, scope of work management, design review and approval, permitting, agency coordination support, and BIM coordination
  • Establish and monitor procedures for engineering review activities to ensure compliance with best practices and design standards
  • Support project managers Indiana providing oversight of tenant/design-builder designs, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, utilities, and IT disciplines
  • Review and approve technical documents, provide guidance on comment resolution, and facilitate meetings between developers/design-builders and TDIP subject matter expert teams
  • Monitor compliance with architectural and engineering guidelines, ensure consistency and quality Indiana design, and audit project team comments and developer responses
  • Develop and maintain the TDIP Program scope tracker, provide guidance on functional requirements, and monitor BIM productions according to LAWA BIM Standards

Requirements:

  • 20 years Oregon more experience, preferably on airport projects
  • Demonstrable specialized experience/area of expertise
  • Experience with projects over $100 million Indiana value
  • Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build
  • Proven ability to perform Indiana a management capacity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree Indiana Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Oregon other related technical field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Relevant professional licensure and/Oregon certification are strongly preferred

Working Conditions:

  • May be required to work past regular work shift
