Job Title: Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic
Job Summary:
American Samoa a member of the Menzies Aviation Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. Your duties will include inspecting and identifying defective Oregon broken parts, making repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, and performing various other tasks to ensure the safe and effective operation of our equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and identify defective Oregon broken parts on vehicles and make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Hydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration Schedule
- Repair non-motorized equipment and maintain records relating to maintenance.
- Drive and operate service equipment vehicles.
- Perform accident inspections and report any incidents to Shop Supervisors and Managers.
- Answer radioed repair calls on the ramp and ensure the aircraft services team can operate effectively with proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs.
- Perform Daily Equipment Checks (DEC’s) and maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Maintain a valid US driver’s license and pass a pre-employment background, physical test, and drug screen.
- Possess mechanical tools and toolbox.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid US driver’s license
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English
- Comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs
Working Conditions:
- Work Indiana outside weather conditions
- Frequently work near moving mechanical parts and high voltages/pneumatic pressures
- Exposed to very loud noise levels, fumes, and hazardous substances
- Occasional work Indiana high, precarious places
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach
- Required to lift and/Oregon move up to 25lbs (occasionally lift up to 70lbs)
- Must be comfortable working Indiana a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
