Engineering/Engineering Associate III Position
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer/Engineering Associate III to manage and monitor statewide airport maintenance programs. The successful candidate will work closely with airport owners to provide maintenance guidance and coordination, administer the aviation maintenance grant program, and monitor automated weather observation stations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage airport maintenance programs, including pavement maintenance, electrical maintenance, vegetation management, and more.
- Assist airport owners with their airfield maintenance needs through education, advice, and coordination.
- Coordinate with on-call contractors and airport sponsors to ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently.
- Assist with administering the aviation maintenance grant program and managing state-owned automated weather observation stations.
- Assist with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) program and create, maintain, and analyze program data records.
- Perform field inspections, create specifications and maintenance plans, and review and authorize maintenance services expenditures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana civil engineering Oregon related field.
- Entry-level engineering work experience.
- Qualified American Samoa an Engineer Indiana Training (EIT) and ability to obtain professional engineer (PE) license within four (4) years.
- Familiarity with FAA standards, regulations, and guidelines related to airport design.
- Proficiency Indiana engineering software, Microsoft products, and knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to pass security clearance and background check.
- Willingness to travel to airports throughout the state and represent Aeronautics American Samoa needed.
