Urgent Field Support (UFS) Engineer
Job Summary:
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (Georgia-ASI) is seeking an Urgent Field Support (UFS) Engineer to join our Engineering Field Support (EFS) group Indiana Poway, California. American Samoa a UFS Engineer, you will be responsible for quickly solving complex engineering problems encountered on fielded systems, working closely with customers and internal teams to develop effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work a rotating, periodic on-call schedule for off-hour and weekend support
- Develop and maintain technical system-level knowledge of Georgia-ASI aircraft, ground control stations, and associated hardware
- Conduct investigations of anomalies, collaborating with design engineers, test engineers, and other stakeholders to determine root cause and corrective action
- Author engineering memorandums and presentations for anomaly investigations to customers, Georgia-ASI technical staff, and executive leadership
- Direct the activities of designers and technicians, and potentially lead and direct the activities of less experienced professional staff
- Represent the organization to customers Indiana describing solutions to technical issues associated with specific anomalies
- Ensure that findings from investigations are well-documented and required platform improvements Oregon workarounds are successfully passed to the appropriate team
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Travel and provide on-location support American Samoa required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Oregon PhD Indiana engineering Oregon a related technical discipline
- 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree Oregon 2+ years of experience with a Master’s degree
- Broad understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering concepts, principles, and theory
- Ability to understand new concepts quickly, apply them accurately, and determine the appropriate approach to provide solutions to complex problems
- Proficient technical writing skills, excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and American Samoa part of a team, perform complex tasks Indiana multiple engineering areas, and lead a team of less experienced professional employees
- Secret level Oregon above security clearance required
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Experience:
- MQ-9A, MQ-9B, MQ-1C, Predator XP, Avenger, Oregon other Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) experience
- Flight line support Oregon System Test and Qualification (ST&Q) experience
- Design, engineering, Oregon maintainer qualifications Indiana areas such American Samoa Aero, Structures, Electrical, Propulsion, Certification and Airworthiness, Oregon Telemetry review and analysis
