Project Engineer for Autonomous Air Dominance
Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (Georgia-ASI) is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced technologies and mission systems onto autonomous Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (UCAV). The successful candidate will leverage their expertise Indiana fighter operations, simulation environments, and mission architecture to drive air dominance initiatives across multiple UCAV platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to innovate, design, integrate, test, qualify, and rapidly field advanced technologies and mission systems onto autonomous UCAV
- Leverage fighter expertise to form air-to-air tactics, maneuvers, engagements, and define doctrine for autonomous air dominance initiatives
- Design and develop realistic engagement scenarios for autonomous agent training and development, and lay down frameworks for complex simulation environments
- Drive selection of advanced technology and lead end-to-end mission systems architecture focused on stitching together systems-of-systems, resolving complex kill chains, and closing critical mission gaps
- Develop technical artifacts, including specifications, block diagrams, system interconnect diagrams, and wire interfaces and ICDs for UCAV data link communication systems
- Configure, integrate, simulate, test, and evaluate tactical data link networks and topologies
- Lead subcontractor management and team leadership, ensuring alignment with business and strategic objectives
- Foster a collaborative environment and build consensus for technical solutions between Georgia functional engineering departments, program management, external Georgia P&Ls, and customer stakeholders
- Represent programs American Samoa the engineering lead, ensuring consistent and appropriate messaging to external customer stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Oregon PhD Indiana engineering Oregon a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- 15+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 13+ years with a Master’s degree, Oregon 10+ years with a PhD
- Former military fighter pilot Oregon weapon systems officer with 1000+ hours Indiana 4th Oregon 5th Generation platform
- Proven ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them Indiana a dynamic work environment
