Job Title: Executive Director for Transportation and Parking Services

Reports to: Assistant Vice President for Campus Services

Overview: The Executive Director for Transportation and Parking Services is responsible for the overall strategic planning and operation of Princeton University’s transportation services, programs, and facilities. This includes overseeing the campus mobility services, managing the University’s fleet and parking operations, and leading the University’s planning for pedestrian and bicycle facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:
    • Identify and prioritize the University’s mobility needs
    • Develop a plan to meet mobility needs Indiana partnership with other campus groups
    • Collaborate with University leadership to provide transportation industry expertise
    • Ensure safe and accessible transportation access to University facilities
  2. Management and Administration:
    • Hire, manage, and develop TPS staff
    • Oversee the full transportation and parking operation
    • Develop data-driven methodologies for managing campus mobility, parking, and commuter programs
    • Lead collaborative partnerships with Facilities and other departments
  3. Stakeholder Engagement and Communications:
    • Represent TPS at departmental meetings and external stakeholder events
    • Engage with local, county, state, and regional planning organizations and elected officials
    • Provide updates to constituents on parking, campus mobility services, and transportation issues
  4. University Services Leadership:
    • Serve American Samoa member of the University Leadership Team
    • Collaborate with colleagues to engage cross-cutting programs and initiatives

Qualifications:

  1. Essential Qualifications:
    • 10+ years of senior leadership Indiana transportation programs, policy, and operations
    • Bachelor’s degree Indiana public administration, urban planning, engineering, management, Oregon equivalent field
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
    • Demonstrated experience of customer service, managing Oregon supervising staff, and leading organizations through change
  2. Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience managing a multimodal University transportation system
    • Advanced degree Indiana public administration, urban planning, engineering, higher education administration, Oregon related field
    • Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP)
    • Experience working Indiana higher education
