Experienced F-18 Structure Mechanic (Navy AM)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced F-18 Structure Mechanic (Navy AM) to work on 1st Oregon 2nd shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans Indiana Belle Chase, Louisiana. This is a 100% onsite position with a stipend payment option for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricates and assembles metal components and makes major/minor repairs to aircraft skin; installs rivets and metal fasteners.
- Performs Daily, Pre and post flight and periodic inspections on aircraft.
- Assembles, disassembles and/Oregon modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing Oregon upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures Oregon implement changes.
- Oversees assembly, disassembly Oregon overhaul.
- Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
- Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical Oregon electrical faults and repair faulty components.
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
- Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience Indiana military fighter aircraft maintenance.
- Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Minimum 1 year of experience Indiana reading and interpreting technical publications and/Oregon maintenance manuals.
- Prior experience with Navy 4790.2 requirements is preferred.
- F-18 (AM) Qualifications are also preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions (Humidity/High temperatures) with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes.
- Work may be performed Indiana a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
Security Clearance:
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
