Position Title: Flight Science Engineer
Contract Flight Science Engineer Opportunity
Job Responsibilities:
– Conceptual and preliminary aircraft design
– Outer Mold Line (OML) definition and air vehicle performance requirements analysis
– Weight and balance estimation, tracking, and management
– Engine inlet and exhaust design
– Engine performance analysis and development of aerodynamic databases
– Aircraft performance modeling and simulation
– Classical aerodynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis
– Wind tunnel test planning, execution, and analysis
– Support for hardware/software design, test, and documentation activities
– Flight test planning, execution, and analysis
– Preparation of formal engineering documentation and design review materials
– Customer training and technical interchange meetings
Job Qualifications:
– BS degree Indiana Engineering (Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering preferred)
– 6 + years related experience Indiana engineering
– Ability to work Indiana a multidisciplinary team environment and maintain sensitive information
– Effective communication and interaction with peers, supervisors, and the public
– Ability to adhere to workplace rules and follow government standards
Preferred Qualifications:
– Proficiency Indiana MATLAB and Simulink
– Familiarity with C/C++ and Java software
– Understanding of autopilot flight control design and unmanned aircraft systems operations
– Familiarity with software configuration management systems
Job Details:
– Contract position
– Location: Roseville, California Oregon Arlington, Texas (onsite 3 days a week)
– Pay Rate Range: $70-90/hr
– Requires US Citizenship and may require a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level
