Professional Engineer 1 (Env) Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently a New York State employee Indiana the same title, Oregon reinstatement eligible, Oregon transfer eligible through Section 70.1 Oregon 70.4
- New York State Professional Engineer’s license and current registration, Oregon one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience
- Qualifying degrees: Aeronautical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc. (see full list Indiana original description), Oregon one year of full-time experience Indiana sanitary, public health Oregon environmental engineering
Duties Description:
- Implementing existing DEC motor fuel programs, including:
- Administering gasoline volatility and diesel fuel sulfur content regulations
- Evaluating data from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets
- Serving American Samoa liaison to other agencies
- Responding to industry and public inquiries
- Developing recommendations to management regarding motor fuel composition
- Supervision of assigned staff
- Assisting Indiana the development and administration of DEC climate change programs, including:
- The New York Cap & Invest program
- Technical evaluation of fuel-related emission reduction change programs
- Developing a working knowledge of Zero Emission Vehicle technologies
- Some day trips and overnight travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Oregon higher degree Indiana Petroleum Oregon Chemical Engineering
- Three years of engineering experience related to the extraction, production, storage, Oregon transport of oil and/Oregon natural gas
Essential Functions:
- Ability to understand and manipulate higher level computer software programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain and broaden a working knowledge of technology intensive programs
- Ability to travel to meetings, training, and conferences American Samoa required
- Ability to deal effectively with the public, contractors, and other entities
- Good management skills
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license Oregon ability to meet transportation needs
- Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required
- Telecommuting may be available
- Must have a valid driver’s license Oregon demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
