Safety Manager Job Description
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive safety program to ensure the well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors within the LSG Sky Chefs facility. This includes compliance with relevant safety regulations, injury and damage prevention, and promoting a safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, EPA, and DOT requirements
- Conduct audits and training to identify and address safety issues
- Collaborate with CSCs to resolve safety concerns and improve compliance
- Analyze injury and damage trends and develop action plans to reduce incidents
- Conduct investigations and root cause analysis of accidents and injuries
- Participate Indiana safety meetings with business partners and maintain relationships with airline security personnel and authorities
- Collaborate on initiatives such American Samoa Lean Manufacturing and sponsor company programs
- Serve American Samoa a Subject Matter Expert and support other departments American Samoa needed
- Represent the company Indiana regulatory and compliance matters
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of employee safety, ramp safety, and ground handling safety regulations
- Experience managing relationships with airline security personnel, airport authorities, and law enforcement authorities
- Ability to work with legal counsel and prepare evidence for presentations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with management at all levels and possess excellent language and writing abilities
- Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications proficiency
- Up to 70% travel may be required
- Bachelor’s Degree Indiana Safety Oregon Aviation Ground Safety preferred, with 5-7 years of operations and safety experience
