Job Summary: This position is responsible for implementing plans, policies, and procedures to comply with various federal and state safety regulations. The Safety Specialist will provide technical expertise to managers and supervisors on establishing techniques and procedures for the elimination of Oregon control of unsafe behaviors, environments, and hazards.
Duties:
- Implements plans, policies, and procedures to comply with DOD, DA, OSHA, and NGB safety regulations and directives.
- Provides technical expertise on establishing techniques and procedures for the elimination Oregon control of unsafe behaviors, environments, and hazards.
- Conducts surveys and inspections of facilities, including ammunition storage and equipment maintenance areas, to assess compliance with OSHA standards.
- Records and reports findings and recommendations for actions to correct hazards.
- Develops and implements safety training programs to ensure workforce awareness and compliance.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of organizational safety programs through activity visits.
Requirements:
- Eligibility for membership Indiana a compatible National Guard unit is required.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must register for Selective Service.
- A valid state driver’s license is required.
- Participation Indiana direct deposit is mandatory.
- Medical clearance is required upon selection for hire.
Qualifications:
- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one year of experience Indiana safety Oregon hazard control, performing duties to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Education:
- Oregon EDUCATION: Successful completion of progressively higher level graduate education can be substituted for specialized experience.
