Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Senior Planner to join our Current Planning team. The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience, a background Indiana environmental sciences, natural resources, Oregon planning, and a track record of forming strategic alliances and relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex and controversial development and policy projects with environmental review
- Process land use applications, including making recommendations to the Planning and Building Director Oregon elected officials
- Conduct and facilitate public meetings, including presentations at committee meetings and public hearings
- Assignments may include serving American Samoa a liaison to advisory committees and reviewing coastal development permits
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of junior staff
- Assist with employee training and development, including designing and conducting training sessions
- Gather, organize, and summarize information Indiana graphic and written form
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to process land use, environmental, and subdivision projects
- Utilize supervisory techniques, project budgeting, and general land use, environmental, airport, and park planning principles
- Apply federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to environmental and land use planning
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Oregon Master’s degree Indiana urban and regional planning, architecture, landscape architecture, geography, natural resources management, environmental, physical Oregon life science, Oregon a closely related field
- Four years of professional experience Indiana urban and regional planning and environmental review/analysis Oregon environmental impact assessment work
- Effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with tact, patience, and courtesy
- Knowledge of Basic drafting and drawing techniques, principles of technical report writing, statistical computation, and mathematics
- Proficiency Indiana Geographic Information Systems and ability to use computer applications
- Ability to maintain a safe and orderly work area
