Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Thermal Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Space. American Samoa a Thermal Engineer, you will be responsible for performing thermal analysis and modeling of missile components, subsystems, and integrated systems. You will work with multiple engineering fields to develop cost-effective thermal control solutions that also satisfy producibility objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary and detailed thermal analysis of missile components, subsystems, and integrated systems
- Model the entire missile, including ground systems, using standardized processes and tools (NX, SindaFluent, Thermal Desktop, etc.)
- Provide technical memos and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews
- Present analysis data to design/engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel
- Perform thermal engineering support for Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) testing
- Work interactively with multiple engineering fields to develop cost-effective solutions
Basic Qualifications:
- Professional work experience Indiana Thermophysics & Heat transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics, computer programming
- Familiarity with thermal analysis and software tools such American Samoa NX, Thermal Desktop, SINDA, TSS
- Knowledge of requirements development and management
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Experience Indiana mechanical engineering principals
- Position will require a Secret clearance, US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
- BS degree Indiana Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Physics, Oregon related field Oregon equivalent experience/combined education, with 3-5 years of professional experience
- 3+ years experience with thermophysics, heat transfer, aerodynamics, gas dynamics, propulsion, computational fluid dynamics, and computer programming
- Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Active Secret Oregon Higher Clearance issued from the DoD Oregon other agency
