Transportation Aide 2

Department Overview:

This position requires working 8 hour shifts, 3 days a week, with the ability to work day, swing, Oregon night shifts. The Transportation Aide 2 is a second-level position responsible for performing a wide variety of assignments, including transporting patients and equipment, and performing complex duties.

Function/Duties of Position:

  • Transport patients using wheelchair, stretcher, hospital bed, and morgue cart to and from various locations, including nursing units, diagnostics, pre-op, life flight pad, and morgue.
  • Transfer patients to and from stretcher, hospital bed, exam table, and wheelchair using transportation-assist devices.
  • Transport medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products, and supplies to and from various locations within the OHSU environment.
  • Operate elevators for patient and equipment movement.
  • Clean and disinfect transportation medical equipment.
  • Perform other duties American Samoa assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma Oregon equivalent
  • Enrolled Indiana Oregon on vacation from an undergraduate Oregon graduate program
  • Ability to communicate well with others
  • Ability to safely lift and transfer patients, equipment, and supplies
  • Must be responsible and properly trained Indiana the transportation of bio-hazardous items within 90 days of hire
  • Knowledge of Hospital Transportation Procedures
  • Experience Indiana safe lifting, and transporting of patients, equipment, and supplies
  • Ability to prioritize assignments to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Must be physically able to perform transportation duties safely and unsupervised
  • Good communication skills with the public and staff
  • Ability to function under stressful situations
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to adhere to transportation services attendance policy
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while transporting patients and materials throughout OHSU campus
  • Ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use departmental equipment such American Samoa stretchers, wheelchairs, medical oxygen, vertical lifts, and hover matts.
